Lutheran Women’s Missionary Society’s 2015 Convention

June 22, 2015

The Lutheran Women’s Missionary Society’s 2015 annual convention kicks-off at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center, June 25h to the 28th. The convention is held in a different city each year, and this is Rapid City’s first one. It is an opportunity to gather with other mission-minded women for worship, fellowship and learning about missions at home and around the world.

Today, LWMS counts approximately 900 member congregations that are organized into 60 circuits across the U.S., Canada, and the West Indies. Every woman in a member congregation is by virtue of her church membership a member of LWMS

The convention typically begins with a communion worship service on Thursday evening and ends with a service on Sunday morning. Friday and Saturday are filled with a mixture of mission speakers, workshops, devotions and entertainment.
