STAGEHAND - PT EVENT BASED
Job Summary: The Stagehand provides technical and production support for a wide range of events, assisting with sound, lighting, video, computer graphics, wardrobe, and other production systems. This role supports event setup, operation, and strike, collaborates with production teams, and helps maintain clean, organized, and safe workspaces. Hours vary based on event schedules.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Under direct supervision, assist with the setup, execution, and strike of various events.
- Begin developing skills in a primary production discipline such as lighting, audio, video, carpentry, fly rail, or wardrobe.
- Provide on-site technical support and customer service to clients, performers, and event partners.
- Adhere to all safety protocols.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe stage areas, backstage spaces, and control rooms.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to complete tasks efficiently and ensure cohesive, well-time event workflows.
- Apply basic arithmetic for measurement, load calculations, and equipment configuration.
- Performs all duties of Stagehand III with increased independence and technical proficiency.
- Continue developing expertise within a primary production discipline such as lighting, audio, video, carpentry, fly rail, or wardrobe.
- Cross-train in additional production areas to expand technical versatility and support broader event needs.
- Develop a working knowledge of venue spaces, systems, and operational procedures.
- Interact with production teams, visiting artists, supervisors, other staff members, and the public in a professional manner to support a positive event experience.
- Perform all duties of Stagehand III and II, with advanced technical skill and greater autonomy.
- Assist in training and mentoring team members within primary production departments such as lighting, audio, video, carpentry, fly rail, and wardrobe.
- Maintain a strong working knowledge of venue spaces, systems, operational procedures, and client needs.
- Supervise crew members as needed, supporting Production Managers and Stage Technicians in planning, assigning, and directing work while assisting with issue resolution.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support event and production operations.
Qualifications :
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- One – three years of experience in live events, theatre production, or related area preferred.
- Industry-recognized certifications or training preferred.
- Ability to perform manual tasks safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with supervisors, team members, visiting personnel, clients, and the public.
- Ability to read and understand stage plans, drawings, diagrams, operating and procedure manuals.
- Ability to learn and operate computerized production systems, including lighting, audio, and video consoles and playback software.
Work Environment:
- Requires frequent standing, walking, reaching, and hands-on work with tools, equipment, and materials; occasional climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, or working in tight or awkward spaces.
- Involves regularly lifting and moving up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds, with safe lifting practices expected.
- Work may take place on uneven surfaces, stairs, ladders, catwalks, and elevated platforms, including occasional tasks at heights.
- Exposure to loud noise levels, moving mechanical parts, electrical equipment, airborne particles, vibration, and other typical backstage or technical hazards.
- Requires visual acuity for close work, distance viewing, color recognition, peripheral awareness, and depth perception.
